Weka Felt Fibres – Artisan Felt Creations from the West Coast

We had the pleasure of working with Paulla-Jean of Weka Felt Fibres to bring her unique West Coast artisan creations online. Based in Inangahua, Weka Felt Fibres is a reflection of Paulla-Jean’s deep connection to her environment, her craft, and her commitment to sustainability. Each item she creates is one-of-a-kind, handcrafted with intention, and infused with the spirit of her whenua.

The brief was to create a clean, easy-to-navigate website that let the felt speak for itself. Our approach was to use a minimalist design with natural tones and high-quality photography to showcase the detail, texture, and story behind each piece. The site features her Scarfless Collection, felt bags, wearable art, and fibre sculptures, giving customers a window into her creative process and allowing them to shop online or get in touch directly.

This build included:

Simple, elegant visual design aligned with natural themes

Product galleries highlighting individual artisan works

Personal storytelling, including a special nod to her studio companion, Mika the dog

Integrated social media links to keep the audience connected to new releases and updates

The end result is a calm, grounded online presence that mirrors the quiet beauty of Weka Felt Fibres itself.
